Assembling the Onigiri:

  • In a mold previously soaked in water, add a spoonful of the mixed rice, ensuring to create a well.
  • Add the cheddar cheese mixture into the center of the onigiri.
  • Then, add another spoonful of rice, close the mold, exerting light pressure, and unmold.

Cooking and Glazing:

  • In a hot pan with olive oil, grill the onigiri over medium heat.
  • Once golden, apply soy sauce using a brush, and flip again to color both sides of the onigiri.
  • To avoid breaking the onigiri when handling it, use a spatula and lift it gently.

You can also enjoy this onigiri recipe without cheese and without grilling it—it's delicious.
